A Field trip, A Fresco and a Pomodoro

There are few things more exciting for a teacher than seeing students grow excited over lessons-at-hand.
And this week was exciting indeed. From an ongoing discussion, here are a few definitions of art:
Acceptable
Art is the harmony of skill, discipline and vision.
Art is something of more than ordinary significance.
Art is Craft elevated to the highest level.

Questionable
Art is what you think it is.

Unacceptable
Everything is art.

On Friday, the painting classes (5th and 6th Periods) took an expedition to Uptown Charlotte. We've been discussing the fresco process in the Art History lectures. Friday's field trip to the Bank of America, Corporate Center, allowed the students to experience true frescoes by Ben Long.
