x-height, graphite and the yolk of an egg

Cimabue vs. Giotto

     This week we looked at the work of Giotto, made paint with an egg yolk and cocoa powder, observed the subtle differences between Bodoni and Baskerville, sketched from photos and discussed historical and scientific properties of the color blue. Here are a few samples from the week:
