The Breath of Inspiration

What inspires you?
That is the question posed this week, as I introduced students to the German Master, Albrecht Durer. For an excellent article on Why Inspiration Matters by Scott Barry Kaufman, click here.

Inspiration is a curious thing. The word comes from the Latin, inspirare, meaning 'to breathe'. In the Creation account from the Hebrew Scriptures, we find-

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:7

Living soul could also be translated-
'living one who breathes.'

Joe and Margaret Craig have graciously donated the funds to purchase a brand new Kiln for the Trinity Art program.
Thank you, Dr. and Mrs. Craig!

We also mixed a batch of cyanotype emulsion for the photography classes.
